The REACT course is a five-week training programme on international peace operations intended for professionals interested in improving their knowledge of conflict prevention, crisis management and post-conflict rehabilitation, developing practical skills for their work in the field.
REACT was created in 2003 with the aim of preparing professionals of different profiles, interested in joining the Expert Teams for Rapid Assistance and Cooperation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Over time, the content of the course has been adapted to the international contexts and to needs and realities of peace missions.
REACT is the only training course of its kind that takes place in Spain. Since its creation, 22 editions have been taken place and over 450 students have benefit from it. Next course will take place in May and June 2018

As part of the REACT course, students will learn how to effectively deal with risk-associated and emergency/critical situations while deployed in hostile environments abroad.
This training is expected to improve participants’ understanding of the behavioural field requirements while working as a team member of an international field operation.

FACULTY
The teaching staff are trainers and experts from international organizations, including the UN, OSCE and NATO; diplomats and civil servants; military personnel; police officers; experts from the ICRC and humanitarianNGOs; independent consultants; and university professors.
METHODOLOGY
The course uses a variety of methodologies, including lectures and presentations, debates, group work, practical and advanced role-playing sessions, outdoor activities and simulation exercises.
LANGUAGES
Candidates must be fluent in English as all lectures are given in English.
LOCATION
The course takes place in Madrid, at the premises of the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) which is located at Av. de Gregorio del Amo 6.
DIPLOMA
Participants who successfully complete the course will obtain a diploma from International University Centre for Peace Missions of Helsinki España, and the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI).
