Yes, young people are sensitized in Human Rights

09 Mar Yes, young people are sensitized in Human Rights

Patricia has participated in the Youth to Youth program in Madrid, a human rights education project directed towards children and young university students. Through human rights training, awareness raising and the promotion of volunteering, the project contributes to developing a human rights culture in which children and young people are aware of their rights and their obligations to others, contributing to their development as responsible members of a free, peaceful, pluralist and inclusive society.

In her edition she shared the experience with 180 university students who have sensitized more than 7,400 people among educators, parents and students.

“It’s a myth that we cannot change the world”

Youth to youth, how it works

It consists of two parts:

  • Training of trainers in Human Rights. Patricia explains that at this stage she has felt part of the social change and she values very positively having met other young people with her same concerns.
  • School centers. In this stage the young university students realize the importance of educating children in Human Rights, who will be able to think for themselves so they will be too part of the social change.

Patricia considers participation in the project as a turning point in her life.

Thanks Patricia, with young people like you, the world will be a better place.
